| So your on Business in New York City and your going to do what? Drive 30 miles to play golf on a public course? That's right, for those of you golf enthusiasts who watched the 2002 US Open at Bethpage State Park Black Course you know what we are talking about. The course has just been catapulted into the ranks of toughest course in the Nation.
The Rees Jones renovated course offers the most challenging layouts available to you golfers. The 7,200 yard Black course the longest course in US open history. For most high-handicap players a day on the Black will prove frustrating. High rough and narrow fairways will give the amateur golfer fits. If you have trouble driving the ball 240 yards you may not reach the fairways. Even from the white tees the course plays tough. The Bethpage Park District has done a wonderful job of restoration on the course. The course is a links style course which punishes the slice and the hook by tall fescue grass that eats balls by the dozen.
This golf Mecca located in Farmingdale Long Island offers five 18 hole golf courses that challenge players of all skill levels. For those of you staying in Manhattan you can get to Bethpage by taking the LIRR from Penn Station under Madision Square Garden to Farmingdale.
